    Labor Day Week/Weekend, FASTFURIOUS

Part II -- Catching Up to do

RECAP FROM LAST NIGHT:  Family Guy becomes one of the greatest shows in my TV life.  I hash out some thoughts that I have been hiding from my family/friends for a long time now about certain standards I hold for myself  (if I stepped on any toes, I would like to say that I am very sorry; this is the truth and THIS TRUTH MUST NOT GO UNSAID!!!  Otherwise, if you don't like it, TOUGH DOGGONE COOKIE!!).  Orlando, Florida became the vacation spot for Labor Day Weekend 2007... WHOO!! nope, but really, what memories!!

    AND NOW

This is time-consuming.  After I got off the Internet, it was close to midnight, so I never got to wash my clothes or do any of what I said I was gonna do (except make up the bed) until I got home from work.  Got it out of the way, am darn satisfied, and Wild Hogs is da bomb!!  Especially when Martin Lawrence tried to walk it tall on those Del Fuegos!

This weekend?  Well, we'll see what I have planned other than work Saturday and church on Sunday.

Thank God It's Friday!!  The week draws to a close...Labor Day week that is.  This week was my time to relax and gnosh (I've already gorged my full share of food and soft drink this week... I might as well finish it on out), but next week I am going to start back working out and eating better.  Finances are getting well taken care of--I want to get my bills over with so I can go shopping next weekend.

I don't know of anything else to tell now, other than let me hurry up and get my tail in the bed before I suffer from the fatiguing stresses of ... you'll get it later.

Labor Day Weekend/Week--The Good, The Bad, The Ugly, and the FASTFURIOUS

PART 1--Know What U Mean, Know What You're Saying, And Leave it at that....

Hold on guys.. I'll be right back, I have to go and make up my bed real quick...

Well, you know what?  Never mind that, I'll get to it.. after I hash out what's been on my very mind lately... U know how it is when you've been surfing the Internet and you've realized why it is very important to go out more.

    1) Family Guy has been the bomb since I watched it on Cartoon Network and on TBS before House of Payne came on...  (8/2/2007)  Stewie's wisecracks about world domination (deja vu with Brain on the Animaniacs and Pinky and the Brain) and certain admirations/dislikes of celebrities make me laugh. Although his persona can be totally crude and abominable (such as threats to kill Lois, his own mother and Meg, his sister), he is still known to be that loveable, painstakingly funny baby w/the I.Q. of the Rain Man and the independence of a rebellious traditional college student!!!  Without him, his recently-found retarded father Peter, or that perverted Quagmire, Family Guy would not be the cartoon it is now.

    2) I realized that I deserved better AND that I need to emphasize my standards more when it comes to my social and so-called love life....  Call me picky, but this is what I should've done a long time ago and this is how it's gonna go down from now on.  The next someone in my life will need to be a friend/considered as a friend.  He will have to be the type person that will SHOW ME  that he will be there for me no matter what.  The type of person that will comfort me and make me feel safe when times get rough (not that I need him for that, but that's telling me that he is very caring). The type to respect me.  The type that I don't mind sharing/having good times with.  The type that isn't too persistent or comes off as "cheesy" and player-like (I can tell by your tone of voice on/off the phone, your actions, invasion of space). (Is it THAT hard?)

Not only will he have to be God-fearing, but he has to SHOW ME that he is living it as well as saying it.  HONESTY, SINCERITY, and A GENUINE SENSE OF HUMOR, NOT TO MENTION GOOD OL FASHIONED GOD-GIVEN SENSE has to be displayed.  I just don't go by "nice", "treat you right", or "smart", because you know what?  From what I've learned in my past relationships, the person you meet can be nice to you, and that's just in front of you. Watch it when he's away from you...he can either talk about you bad/lie on you behind your back, cheat on you, whatever the case may be.  Trust me, I know..

He may seem to "treat you right" in the beginning, but somewhere down the line, you will know that it was just up for a front just to see how far you will fall into his "spell" (says he'll call but doesnt, you know what I mean?). Could have been the one all along that was only there for you to be an easy lay.  Or an extra notch in his belt, or an extra digit... get the picture?

I may be beautiful, smart, and attractive, but I am also the type person that takes no stuff and demands more.   I am sick of going along with the mind games, which could have led to a one night stand (thank God it stopped me before it did)--and my faithful and abstaining ways showed that I was more than that!! Furthermore, that was God telling me that he wasn't the one for me in the first place.  I knew it, but I played along; that was the mistake I made every time.  No more.  I don't have time for that type of ignorance, and I refuse to continue to compromise to this ignorance any longer.  This is the ploy some men play to prove their "manhood" to keep the women that they play the mind game with hopeless....

Also,  SHOW ME that you're the smart one. Know what I mean?  Know what you mean, know what you're saying, and leave it at that..

I beg to differ with the ones who have thrown the cliche' around for the 23+ odd years I have been here on this earth: "Age ain't nothing but a number".  It may apply to your state of mind as a person who wants to remain young-at-heart; however, as far as dating someone who is way far out of my range.... Either you're 2 years younger than me or 4 years older than me, and that's it.  I will not be seen/set up as this desperate, helpless bimbo who is out to get his money.  I will not be the one who feels like she is dating her father/uncle/great-grandfather (oh yes, there may be one out there my age dating/married to an 85 year old; I don't know who, but there could be one)/*FLA-VA FLAV!!* *sing song* (ROFL), and old hag will not get access to my...er.. anywayz!!!

Bottom Line:  There is a good man out there, I just need to be patient....  With all these problems with the present marriages/relationships these days, there's no telling.  ONE LAST THING: Yes, he HAS TO BE CUTE!!

Ok, enough emoting, on to topic #3:

    3) Labor Day Weekend...er...week has gone by totally fast.  Causes are my past weekend vacation to Orlando/Kissimmee, FL with my family, me working late Labor Day and today as my day off.  At this rate, I don't realize that tomorrow is Thursday.  Heck, with all the rambling, let me just focus on my vacation to Orlando, and give you the updates.

    • The hotel we stayed in was very nice.  What it was lacking was the usual channels we watch back home (TV Land, VH1, MTV, BET, Cartoon Network, TLC, etc.) but it had TBS, WGN (we don't get WGN back in Albany, except on satellite) The Disney Channel, Toon Disney, (Well, the hotel was near WALT DISNEY WORLD, so there was no choice) Univision, Telemundo, and some other Spanish-speaking channel (most of the people I came in contact were Spanish-speaking...I thought that was interesting), and local channels in that area.
    • This was my first time going to Walt Disney World, so it was a very educational and cultural experience for me.  People came from all over the country, and from other countries as well.  It helped me open my mind to different cultures and races other than who I have been around in Albany.   There were people who worked there from places like Puerto Rico, The Virgin Islands, the Netherlands, and Jamaica.  Also, there were people from the states coming from as far as New Jersey.  A couple of local college students work there also.  I got to go on 4 rides-- The Merry Go Round, The Blue Line (the train that takes you to Space Mountain, which I refused to go on...I don't take chances on scary rides *flashback* ), The Carousel of Progress [the progress of inventions throughout the years shown inside a moving theatre starring the voices  of modeled replicas of a family that walked us thru decades of improvment in appliances, electricity and electronics; found that very educational, Walt Disney and the Imagineers of WED Enterprises introduced this display at the New York World's fair in 1964 (courtesy of http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Carousel_of_Progress)], and last but not least, the Indy Speedway, where I got to sharpen my driving skills (I guess now wud be the time to go get that driver's license, huh?).  The night was finished off with a bang as there were a fireworks display near the Enchanted Castle (pretty, huh?).

Well, that's the trip in a nutshell.  We got back home around 10:10 PM Sunday night.

The one thing abt that trip--the time there was like Daylight Savings Time (I hope we weren't in Central Standard Time, or I would've been jet lagged!! (or car-lagged, whichever that is..)

That is all for tonight...Now I must make up my bed, attempt to wash my dishes, clothes, say my prayers and tuck in....

    Part II coming Soon!!!

    Good night!!

    Love,

  • I have never been this tired in my lucky life!!!

Hello, folks.  I have not been this tired in all my days.  I have worked the same schedule this week for 4 days straight and I have been drained... The turning point was yesterday... Besides the heat advisory (because we all know that the weather in Albany is very iffy... cool one day, hot the next.. but today was SIZZLING!!), I had to go straight back home after I got my hair done.. I was even hot at the salon, and the dryer didn't define that for me all by itself.

So, I am typing this now just so I can accomplish everything I planned today. And if you will excuse me, I am going to watch my favorite show since it first came out, House of Payne... clean my room, then start on some of the laundry before 10:30.  So, until then. GOOD NIGHT!!

    Blessings,

    :)
